Edisto Landscape Photographer Tommy White, Botany Bay Plantation

Edisto Landscape Photographer Tommy White, Botany Bay Plantation

Finally made it to Botany Bay Plantation! It's been on my punch list for some time and though the conditions were not ideal, it was still great to
get out and do some shooting. This image is part of the coastal attraction at Botany Bay. As the beach is eroding, a tree line of Live Oaks are claimed by the sea and are eventually bleached and stand as skeletons in the surf. They eventually break off and wash up to the shoreline, which is now known as the Boneyard.
I'll be going back towards the end of March to try and capture the azalea bloom at some of the Plantations. Until then...
Keep shooting friends!

Charleston Landscape Photographer, Boone Hall Plantation

The entrance to the Boone Hall Plantation is lined with Live Oaks on both sides dripping with moss, ferns and other unique flora. This shot is taken looking towards the exit. I was there during the Azalea bloom and wanted to show them in my image. I was a little torn because I wasn't terribly excited about the posts lining the entrance and would have preferred it natural. However, with the kind of traffic flow they have there, it made sense. I did like this image and the way the moss was swaying in the wind. I believe it best exemplified the grandeur of it all. I'll post a few of the others sometime soon!
Enjoy!
